Art Books Available for Purchase - Life in the City So Grand

Grand can mean many things depending on what it stands with or against. In this case, the collage/digital work represents life in the city through the prism of space, time, ether, roads, and a small dog.
The imagery is distilled down to iconography easy to recognize and disembodied at the same time

Art Books Available for Purchase - Dreams of the Delta

This mixed media series is a meditation on the reconfiguration of an interior life after some cataclysmic external events.

Art Books Available for Purchase - Photo Album

This book is based on a trip I took back to my grandparents'. I had been looking forward to seeing all the old family photos and was told, instead, that everything was torn out of albums and burned. My grandfather feared persecution by the invading communists. He still had the empty photo albums with photo corners and spots where photos were once glued.

Art Books Available for Purchase - Passion Cosmonauts: Space Odyssey in the Microcosm

The passion flower is native to the americas named for its resemblance to christ's crown of thorns in christian theology. As an herbal remedy, it has been used for hundreds of years for its psychoactive properties. I personally enjoy them as space walking cosmonauts from an early childhood love of photography, NASA, and algorithms. Space walking passion flowers would seem to be a logical next step.

Art Books Available for Purchase - The War to End all Wars

An applique version of how one might have envisioned utopia. The refuse of war becomes fodder/mulch for strange/funny things to grow. The outcome is definitely not guaranteed.

The Phuong Phan Art Site is in Progress

hi. thanks for stopping by and checking out the new site.  i have a long history in the visual arts starting with dad teaching me about photography and a little about optical engineering and algorithms in grade school.  i'm profoundly greatful for that foundation.

i can't leave mom out.  she was a master cross-pollinator, the most creative person i knew growing up, though i don't think she saw what she did as that. the d.n.a. was passed onto me.  i discovered mendel, separately.

this site is still in progress.  i'm down with the blog platform and service, blogger.  i want to give props to google for creating the idea of blog and revolutionizing publishing among many other things.

some things involved in the creation of this site include: dreamweaver, photoshop, fireworks, flash, and good old fashioned html.

www.fernphan.com provided the text work, SEM (Search Engine Marketing), and SEO (Search Engine Optimization) that will be going live soon.

www.haudesign.com provided the site design, UI (user interface), logo, font, SEO (Search Engine Optimization), and all other things Web 2.0.  hau design also maintains the site as webmaster.

Working on the Store and Galleries

Two days ago, I was certain I wanted flash galleries of the work, but now I'm not sure. Do I want the artwork to be searchable or not.
