In this day of over exposure, even animals, beastly and tame, are shying away from the camera and, ultimately, being put on the internet. See two examples below:
A squirrel-y squirrel being even more squirrel-y than usual. He started giving the camera dirty looks (what was perceived by the human photographer) as the camera was being pulled out of the bag then said squirrel tried to dart out of camera view.
This specimen quickly averted the flash of the camera.
He was forewarned by the red flashing autoread/redeye reduction light that comes before the strobe. Note the converse shoe tip to the left of the cat's (Malted Milk the Cat) right paw. That's the butcher waiting to get filling for his special English meat pie. That didn't seem to bother the cat as much as having its picture taken.
